1.

Conditions of Tender

The tenderer should clearly understand that the primary object of this concession is the provision of bathing facilities for the general public at reasonable rates.

2.

Accordingly tenderers submitting their own schemes must provide communal changing facilities with locker accommodation for clothes and the use of communal showers for not less than 550 persons of each sex. A maximum charge of $1.00 per person per day will be allowed for the use of this accommodation.

3.

Tenderers submitting such schemes must also make provision for a room for use as a first aid post. The stocks and staff for this post will be arranged by the Chairman, Urban Council.

4.

Accommodation for persons requiring private cubicles or cabins may be of various grades and charges may vary accordingly. Details of such must be submitted with the Form of Tender.

5.

In private schemes full details must be attached to the tender regarding the area or areas of land required to be leased, the type of structure or structures it is proposed to erect, the type of accommodation to be provided, the number of persons to be accommodated and the proposed. scale of charges.

The height of buildings shall be approved by the Building Authority but no portion of any building shall exceed 35 feet in height.

7.

The successful tenderer must submit the usual plans for buildings and other works for the approval of the Building Authority.

Adequate and proper lavatory accommodation must be provided to the satisfaction of the Urban Council. All water-closets must be at the west end of the site to enable gravity sewer connections to be provided (at tenderers cost) to the Government septic tanks. Buildings which cannot be connected to this sewer shall be provided, if necessary, with soakaway pits of an approved type for non-sewage effluents.

Mains water will, at the expense of the tenderer, be available for potable purposes and W.C.s only. Water for shower and other purposes will have to be obtained from other sources by the tenderer, at his own expense.

10.

The successful tenderer will be required to construct and maintain areas of hard standing of tar macadam or concrete not less than 4" thick for use as car parks. A maximum parking fee of $1.00 per day or portion of a day for the use of a car park may be charged. The area to be provided for this purpose must not, unless otherwise approved, be less than 2,200 sq. yds,

11.

The successful tenderer must, at points to be approved by the Chairman, Urban Council, allow free and uninterrupted access to the beach from the main road and from the car parks for the general public.
